B CORP CERTIFIED
A better way of doing business
Little Sky Gelato is the first Australian gelato/ice-cream shop to be B Corp certified. B Corporations represent a global movement of people using business as a force for good. These businesses meet higher standards of social and environmental impact, transparency, and have accountability to stakeholders, rather than just shareholders.
The B Corp movement is growing exponentially with the goal to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. Over the past two years alone there has been 6,000 applications from businesses looking to join the global community of more than 8,000 B Corps. From multinational corporations to small, local businesses like Little Sky Gelato, B Corps can be found in 150 industries in 78 countries around the world.
Today, there’s over 800 certified B Corps in Australia alone, and all have gone through a stringent, documented verification process. Little Sky Gelato joins other businesses such as Applewood Distillery, part of Team Unico, Stone & Wood and 4 Pines breweries, The Body Shop, Attica, Market Lane Coffee, T2 teas, Aesop and EcoStore cleaners.
B Corp Impact Score
The B Corp impact score is a measure of how a company's operations and business model impact its workers, community, environment, and customers. To obtain the B Corp Certification, a company must receive a score of at least 80 points on the assessment. Little Sky achieved a score of 90.7 (the median score for ordinary businesses who complete the assessment is 50.9). This means that you can be confident in what we tell you we are doing is what we are actually doing, and we’ve been benchmarked against the world’s most sustainable and ethical businesses.
